Delta Renewable Energy Company is First Solar Specialty Member
of the GVHBA
Vancouver, February 20, 2007 - The Delta BC based renewable energy
company, Taylor Munro Energy Systems Inc.- who showcase their line
of solar heating products at this week’s BC Home and Garden
Show - announces its membership in the Greater Vancouver Home Builders
Association (GVBHA). The award-winning solar company is the first
member of the GVHBA to offer solar hot water heating products to
homeowners looking to lower their conventional energy consumption
costs as well as to reduce their carbon footprint.
Taylor Munro offers a range of custom designed and installed products
that use the renewable energy of the sun to pre-heat and store hot
water. The solar thermal technology used in Taylor Munro’s
systems is more cost effective than solar Photovoltaic (electrical)
products and the systems are easily incorporated into home renovations,
new home construction and pool heating applications. Home Show visitors
can get a hands-on look at Taylor Munro’s collector panel line
and talk to company reps about the company’s products and service
package.
“The Home Show is a great opportunity for us to show homeowners
that solar water heating technology and service is readily available
right here in BC”, says Taylor Munro’s President Joe
Thwaites, “ Our systems are designed to integrate with current
residential construction practices, so it’s an easy step for
people to include green building ideas in their home and garden plans.
The company is also launching an incentive program to encourage Vancouver
builders to build new homes “solar ready”.
Taylor Munro’s SunCoil™ Hybrid systems include space-heating
options, further reducing the need for the use of heating energy
from conventional sources such as natural gas and electricity. Greenhouse
gas emission reductions resulting from Taylor Munro solar heating
are proven and substantial. Renewable energy heating systems are
also PST exempt.
In addition to its many residential installations in the GVRD, Taylor
Munro has executed a number of high-profile projects including the
Vancouver International Airport retro-fit and LEED compliant green
buildings such as the City of Richmond’s Hamilton Fire Hall
and Century Group’s Oliva condominium project in Tsawwassen.
The Toronto based contract energy firm Mondial Energy, has also
retained Taylor Munro to design and install the largest commercial
residential hot water solar system yet seen in Toronto - a 108 glazed
flat panel collector array totaling 324 square meters, The Woodgreen
Community Housing system is scheduled to produce 201,961 kWh per
year, reduce GHG emissions by 53 tons per year and offset the consumption
of natural gas in the order of 32,000 cubic meters per annum.
